Some layouts to share ...

These are the latest LOs I have been working on this week :) All for the New Zealand album - must really get started on Mum's album...

The DLO is based on an October 2007 pagemap, and is of Jemma on the park we found in Levin - a lunch stop on our road trip from Whanganui to Wellington.
The papers are Rob & Bob Studio, and Scenic Route, the title is done with American craft foam Thickers, there are also some Maya Road acetate flowers plus a smattering of primas and PM buttons :)

The photos on this next LO were also taken at Levin park - this time Tom is the subject :)
I used a June 2007 pagemap for this one, although I did take some of the photos away to make room for the second large photo and the journalling.
Card is bazill, the paper is Scenic Route, and the title is done with Thickers again :)

The final LO is of the kids enjoying the zip slide at One Tree Hill Domain in Auckland:)

I have the Creating Keepsakes book " Superfast pages with 4x6 photos" and this is a scraplift of one of the LOs in that book - the original is on page 28 and was done by Shannon Taylor :)
The card is bazzill again, and the papers are all from the Basic Grey Color me Silly collection :) The title has been done with..... yep Thickers LOL :) It's a bad photo, I can never get my LOs to look straight....

The photos on the LO aren't perfect ones, and I am coming to the conclusion that even if its not the best shot ever, I still took it, to capture a moment in time. And, to be honest, kids whizzing past you on a zip slide = unfocussed blurry photos LOL.

I think I take after my Dad in the art of out of focus shots - there is a classic one of me in my pram, and I am at the forefront of the photo, and completely blurred, although the wall behind me is in perfect sharp focus LOL.

I have been going through my heritage photos today to make up some page kits - it's time I did some more pages for the "golden oldie" album (mind you they all seem to be of me so far LOL )

Cake with a difference!

For a first attempt, I am quite chuffed actually LOL

The "ingredients" to this cake are :

38 size 1 nappies
1 bottle of baby bath
1 flannel
1 bib
1 vest
1 travel pack of wipes
2 pairs of socks (rose garnishes)
and to top it off, 1 teddy and a pram toy :)

Add some ribbon, and plonk it on a cake board, et voila, one nappy cake :) I thought I would photograph it before putting it in cellophane, so I shall do that later, and probably add a couple of tags and the adorable Little Cotton Rabbit baby stamp will make another appearance :)

A bucket full of love...

... well a bucket full of baby stuff anyway LOL. I finally finished it off :)

I managed to get 3 nappies, mini versions of talc, shampoo, baby oil and antibacterial handwash, a flannel, a vest, a pair of socks, a bib, a travel pack of baby wipes and a teddy bear in this bucket.... phew!
The tag has a Little Cotton Rabbit baby stamped on it - I just love this stamp sooo much :)
I remember when I finished work to have Jemma, the boss's wife made up a basket full of all sorts of baby goodies in it - from muslins to cotton buds and everything in between. I was so choked (baby hormones aside) at such a thoughtful gift. So maybe someone will think this is a nice gift to give too... But it will make a great display in the craft shop whether it sells or not...;)

Might try and start the nappy cake, although I want to get a cake board first, which I will get in town tomorrow, so maybe I won't start it.... he he he x

Weekly challenge

This LO was done for the weekly team challenge on UK Scrappers :) I am not one to do the challenge every week, I don't always like the stipulations they want, but when I do see one I like, I give it a good go LOL. When I saw that part of the challenge was to use orange on the LO, I knew this week was one for me!
Tom has a lot of orange t-shirts, he loves the colour orange, so I have alot of photos with orange in them - so the main challenge for me this week was to pick 2 photos out of the many I have to scrap LOL

The team provided a sketch, which I turned 90 degrees :)
The papers are Scenic Route Metropolis, the title is AC Thickers, they were white, but I coloured them in with a zig pen and sharpie pen and then added some Stickles on top :) The cardstock and brads are Paper Mania, and the flowers are from various sources, as is the ribbon :)
I have started the baby bucket o' goodies, just need to add some tags, and last night I started rolling nappies for this nappy cake I am planning... I need to get a cake board I think, and then I can really start in earnest...

Huka Falls

This is my latest LO for my New Zealand album. This is when we went to see the Huka Falls just outside Taupo, and were a bit disappointed it wasn't Niagara Falls LOL. The journalling is hidden under the middle photo. Googling Huka Falls when we got back, showed we hadn't walked far enough to see the drop at the end, we'd just seen the rapids in the middle. Anyhow, the colour of the water was spectacular, so we got some good shots anyway :)

I used Rhonna Farrer paper I got in Decembers Scrapagogo kit as the background, bazzill card, BG and scenic route chipboard bracket, and American crafts foam Thickers for the title :) I added some tiny prima flowers and some stickles too :)
The LO is based on a pagemap from August 2007, I used the LHS of a DLO pagemap :)

I managed to get some more page protectors for my NZ album yesterday, so I have enough for 10 more pages :) Will then see how fat the album is getting, but I think I'll be needing to get another album for the South Island photos, although there aren't quite as many as we were there less than a week...

Had a good chinwag with my pal Jo yesterday, accompanied by cream cakes.... Best way to spend an afternoon I think....

Spent last night making up a bucket of baby goodies, to put into the craft shop. I battled with the cellophane, and the huge bow LOL, just need to add a couple of tags now :) I want to do a nappy cake too, I shall figure that one out over the next few days I think :)

Maze book..

... and I am quite pleased with how it turned out too :) Although my folding skills leave a lot to be desired, some of the creases look like Nora Batty's stockings - i.e wrinkly - but I added lots of ribbons to hide them ;)

I used up lots of scraps in this book, and odds and sods of bazill. I used Hero Arts rubber stamps and also Heidi Swapp baby stamps (not got a photo of those pages though) The monogram on the front cover is Maya Road chipboard, painted and Stickled :) Ribbons are from the huge box again LOL.

I also managed to do a LO last night - this one had me stumped for a while. I had sorted a page kit for it, but it just didn't look right, so I got my Love Elsie Toby scraps out, and used them instead LOL. I found it hard to think of a title too, but then I read through the journal entry for this day, and found more info - and a quick search on Google Earth gave me some more info for the journalling :) I used a December 2007 pagemap for this one too ;)
Card is bazzill, papers are Love Elsie Toby, American Crafts foam Thickers for title, corner stamps are Heidi Swapp, and the circle embellishment is a Greener Pasture stamp on Toby paper :) A bit of doodling with a zig pen and I call it done :)

I need to get to my LSS this week to get more page protectors for my NZ album, can't believe I have done almost 20 pages - at this rate I am going to need another album, one for North Island, one for South Island!!

Feeling a lot more human today too, finally think I have kicked this bug to touch. Just waiting for Tom to come down with it now, he is the only one to have escaped so far...

I'm baaaack.....!

This week I have mostly been........sleeping LOL. The lurgy continues to linger, although Jemma is much better now, and even managed to make it into school for the last day of term :) So I haven't managed to do anything remotely crafty, until yesterday.... I managed a couple of hours in the cubbie, and got a few bits done:)

This DLO has been started for a while, but I was waiting for some Thickers to arrive from QVC, to do the title.....

I used Becky Higgins' sketch out of the March issue of Creating Keepsakes, and I love how I have got 9 photos on this DLO! I used some K&Co paper from March's Scrapagogo kit, some blue cardstock I have had for years, and a strip of Crate paper:) Thickers for the title, and voila, one DLO!! I must go through all my old issues of CK and save Becky's sketches for future reference, as I really enjoyed doing this one :) Patiently waiting for my April copy, hopefully it will turn up this week :)

This next LO was based on a December 2006 pagemap, and uses up scraps of the January Scrapagogo kit - I must work out how many LOs I have got out of this kit, and I still have a few scraps left!!

I used bazzill cardstock, papers are all Making Memories Noteworthy, rik rak and trimming from stash and once more Thickers foam alphas for the title:) I really need a scratch and sniff for this LO, as words cannot describe the smell LOL!!

Finally, I made a card! Friends of ours who live in Alaska have just had a baby boy, so I got my Little Cotton Rabbit stamps out for a quick and simple card.

I coloured him in with watercolour pencils and a waterbrush, I used Palette Ink to stamp him. The sentiment is an Elzybells stamp :) Ribbon again from stash (I still have far too much ribbon!). I am going to make a maze book for them too, but I have never done one of these before, so off to find some instructions and maybe report back later with the finished result!

It's sooooo good to be back and in the crafting zone again - it is true that it is therapeutic ;)
