The little book of me..

I finished the cover to my book of me last night too, and thought it would be fun to put an Art Doll of me on the front LOL. I am quite pleased with the result, although it does look a bit scary with my head on it LOL. I want to put some ribbons on the spine too, but will wait till its a bit fuller so I can guage it a bit better.

Oh, and can you guess that my favourite colour is purple....??!!!! And I like stickles....

A page for my Book of Me

I have been using the prompts on UKS set by Kirsty and Roz to kick start my book of me. I have done all but one of the prompts, and I have found them to be invaluable to help me create these pages about myself (and to scrap the god-awful photos of myself LOL).
This is July's prompt - use the word "be" in your layout/title. This photo was taken 5 years ago in Gibraltar, when I got my big kid head on and decided to have a go on one of those bungee-trampoline things...
I used Sassafrass Lass paper, bazill cardstock, hero arts stamps for the journalling strips, Girls are Weird sizzlit alpha for "yourself" and Heidi Swapp ghost letters smothered in orange acrylic paint! There is a velvet flower and a brad on there too...

Playing with old photos...

... and I came up with this 12 x 6 layout, of my Mum - before she was a Mum, before she was a wife, in the late 1960's. Its not the greatest photo ever taken, but my Dad has never been known as the greatest photographer in the world - and I have some corkers to prove it!!

I used the Sassafrass Lass kit from the Scrummy Stash cafe again, the chipboard frame was in the kit, and I just covered it with patterned paper and distressed it with sand paper. The rub ons are Creative Imaginations.

Once upon a time...

...I was the only girl Daddy had, then 7 years later I found I had to share the title "Daddy's girl" with my baby sister... But I was the original, and best!
I used the Sassafrass kit from Scrummy Stash Cafe, with some Paper mania alpha stickers. I cut the word "Daddy's" from felt - I drew round a Scenic Route alpha, cut it out and then handstitched with pink embroidery floss.
This is my first 12 x 6 layout, and it certainly feels different, but I have many more planned already, and a whole album to do for my Dad!!

I love Bellas...

... and I have been playing!!

The top card is Prezzibella, and the second card is PMSabella LOL. These stamps are fantastic to work with, they produce lovely crisp images... hard to stamp a bad image to be honest!

I got my 12 x 6 albums in the post today, and they look fab, can't wait to start to fill them. I have been sorting through my mountain of new photos, trying to sort them into some kind of order, and failing miserably. I have a lot of my Dad, throughout the ages LOL, as I am planning a special album for his 60th birthday ( a 12x 6 :D) There are so many lovely pictures of me as a baby/toddler, and its not often you'll hear "lovely photo" and "me" in the same sentence, as I am truly the most un-photogenic person on the planet! But as a 2 yr old I was adorable, awww! So I am quite looking forward to creating some pages with those pics!

I also was a bit brave today, and went and made a slide show of my favourite layouts. I can't believe how many favourites I have LOL.

I've been shopping (again)

Look at all the goodies I got!! I went to visit my local scrapshop - Papercrafts (they have a website http://www.funkykits.co.uk/ ) - to catch up with my friend Mrs Mac, and to see what new stuff she has got in since I last visited. Well I had to have some Bella stamps...and some other stamps... and of course a new album for my holiday LOs ...oh and some other stuff just fell into my arms!! And in honour of Tinks I bought something pink ;)
No stash parcels waiting at home though, but I did get some more photos LOL.
I can't wait to play with my new stuff ...

Feeling better today

A bit more upbeat, but not very creative!

Managed to upload another large order from Photobox - of all my heritage photos, and all the slides I scanned in when my parents were up in June (all my baby photos are slides, and I am now lucky enough to have the first photograph taken of me aged 3 weeks.) I am also waiting on another photo order to arrive, to update our normal photo albums plus a few enlargements for me to scrap! So when they all arrive I will have no excuse whatsoever to get the paper and glue out!

I am also waiting on some 12 x 6 albums - I ordered a red one to do for my Dad as a 60th birthday pressie, and 2 for me (one vertical, one horizontal) as I really do fancy experimenting with this size. I have fun with the 8.5 x 11's I do, and as I have a lot of 6 x 4 photos, this size is perfect if I only have a single photo. Multi photo LOs still tend to be 12 x 12...

Down to earth...

...with a huge bump. After a few days of having ideas popping into my head morning and night, and lots of creative juices flowing, today everything has deserted me. I am feeling very low today, and very alone, no amount of chocolate seems to be helping either. And to add to the fact that I realised last night I have no real life friends, today is a black day... And here was I thinking I could keep this blog to crafting issues only... ho hum. But writing stuff down is therapeutic, even if no one reads it....

Eek..

..I've been tagged....

Thanks Jayne

So I tag

Stacey

Paula

Anne

Carol

Tinks

who also happen to be my fellow Norty girls, and they all have fantastic blogs too!!

More scrapping...

...shocking I know, 3 layouts in 3 days, must be a record !!!
This is Tom pulling funny faces for the camera whilst we waited for Jemma and Mark to get out of the trees - long story, but they did have lots of fun!!
I used prism cardstock for the base, and bazzill cardstock for the journalling strips. The strips are stamped using Hero Arts tiny type stamps and Bazzinks. The patterned paper is creative imaginations. The alpha stickers are Rusty Pickle Chocolate Bunnies. Then it was just some flowers and some paper mania buttons to finish off, oh and a quick whizz round with my sewing machine.

The first LO from my holiday photos....

Now I have my photobox order (all 541 photos lol) I thought I had better make a start on some LOs.... This is an enlargement I got done, as I love the photo, although it is probably not the best photo in the world (you can't really see Jemma at all!) I snapped this from a distance when we were at Muriwai beach on the first full day of our holidays, and it was nice for me to see the kids off at a distance with someone else for a change!! And it was fantastic to see the family all together again. I just love the backdrop to the photo too, the beach is volcanic black sand, which was odd at first, but I think it is beautiful.

The card is prism, the paper is Christina Cole, the chipboard is Heidi Swapp and I used my trusty white gel pen for the journalling.

I've been scrapping!!

I know, its a shock isn't it LOL. This is a LO I had in the pipeline before I went away, it is something I have wanted to do for a while...
The papers are Sassafrass lass, the chipboard is scenic route, inked (and the letters are glittered with Stickles glitter glue), a couple of primas, and a couple of brads, and voila, one LO!!

And can you see, I scraplifted myself.... I loved the Tom @ 5 one so much I scraplifted it!!

Sorry for the abscence...

I have been in New Zealand on holiday.

Got back on Thursday, so I am suffering with jet lag right now.

Took lots of photographs, and I found a great stash shop too, so I hope to share some of my pages with you over the next few weeks! I just have to get my body clock back to UK time instead of it being somewhere in the Pacific.....
